Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Role is also eligible for team based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Legal Department, the Quality Enrichment Program Director, Clinical is responsible for enhancing a culture of providing quality care and services to senior living residents, promoting regulatory compliance, and advancing compliance with policies and procedures. This role achieves these endeavors by leading strategic peer review enterprises focused on resident care and services.

  1. Conducts strategic peer review visits at senior living communities with a focus on resident care and services including, but not limited to, (1) quality standards, (2) regulatory compliance, and (3) compliance with policies and procedures;
  2. Assess risk related to the care and services offered to residents at senior living communities;
    Compiles and reports privileged and confidential findings to the Legal Department
  3. Reviews state regulatory agency surveys and other germane materials, in preparation of peer review visits, to determine areas of
  4. Collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts to develop and implement quality enrichment initiatives
  5. Proficient in understanding and staying apprised of senior living best practices, applicable regulations, and internal policies and procedures;
  6. Provides privileged and confidential findings of peer review visits and risk assessments to leadership;
  7. Conducts privileged and confidential internal investigations in response to resident incidents, community practices, or other matters in anticipation of litigation;
  8. Reports findings derived from internal investigations for assessment and evaluation purposes regarding decision-making going forward.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or an Associate Degree in Nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse are preferred along with at least five (5) years of experience in the senior living industry, preferably in a similar peer review role. Licensed Practical Nurses as well as a clinical background or risk mitigation background in senior living will also be considered based on experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of the practical applications of regulations, statutes, quality standards, and policies and procedures related to resident care and services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Appreciation for the review and handling of sensitive information, understanding resident privacy rights, maintaining confidential information, and preserving the attorney-client privilege and the attorney work product doctrine.

 

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Active nursing license preferred.

This position requires significant travel (75%-85%) by vehicle and air. A valid driver’s license is required. This position will require the ability to work as well as travel some evenings and weekends.

 

Management/Decision Making
Under the direction of the Legal Department, uses independent judgment, critical thinking, decision-making, and analyses to conduct strategic peer review visits of senior living communities and serve as an advocate to promote quality standards for resident care and services, advance regulatory compliance, aid in compliance with policies and procedures, and assess risks.

 

Further, under the direction of the Legal Department, uses independent judgment, critical thinking, decision making, and analyses to lead or assist in internal investigations.
